The Directors at Spirotech are delighted to have achieved another important accreditation to add to the growing list.
This time for UKAS – the National Accreditation Body for the United Kingdom – an organisation appointed by government to assess and accredit organisations that provide services including certification, testing, inspection, calibration, validation and verification.
Spirotech had already achieved 9001 and 14001 certification and in October 2024 it was determined by the directors to seek UKAS accreditation with Alcumus ISOQAR, a recognised and respected UKAS accredited certification body. Spirotech already had the accreditation for SafeContractor certified by Alcumus ISOQAR and their reputation preceded them.
A two-part plan
An in-depth dual audit plan, which would be undertaken in two parts, was drawn up to cover both 9001 & 14001 standard requirements and certification. Stage 1 was undertaken in December 2024, which was to verify that Spirotech was indeed ready for accreditation, which with only three advisories was deemed ready. Stage 2 was planned for late February.
All available evidence and sections were submitted for the offsite auditor to review a planned two day audit by two auditors. This was undertaken whereby all elements of the standards were reviewed and further evidence was provided to a third offsite auditor.
Certification now in place
The end result was that Spirotech was deemed compliant to both standards and to be recommended for certification by the UKAS certifying body. Certificates have now been received and further surveillance audits planned later this year to maintain the certification. Continuous internal audits are designed to maintain this level of certification.

Spirotech is acutely aware of the importance of being independently evaluated and assured that its technical knowledge and experience is of a recognised standard worldwide, in turn giving Spirotech’s valued clients confidence in the quality of the products and services being provided.
The huge effort taking hundreds of hours to achieve UKAS certification has been extremely worthwhile for the dedicated Spirotech team.
