Spirotech Group has been actively helping the local community since the first lockdown in March last year and the directors and staff were delighted that they could once again help to make a difference by donating five laptops to Sawtry Junior Academy.
Due to the schools being closed the laptops will enable disadvantaged children within the community to access much needed remote learning facilities. The laptops were handed over by Spirotech Group’s Adam Colby and Will Gadsby to Sarah Flack, Academy Principal at the beginning of February.
Principal Sarah Flack comments on the generosity of Spirotech’s gesture:
Spirotech have very kindly donated 5 brand new laptops to the school. These have already been given to families who do not have devices to be able to access the remote and live learning from home. These are in addition to the school devices provided to year 5 and 6, the devices provided by the DFE and the devices donated by the Parish council (which will soon be delivered from Dell). This is enabling us to ensure that the Key Stage 2 children in Sawtry are being provided with a really great opportunity to continue their education during lockdown. We are very grateful to Spirotech and the Parish council for their support in helping us to provide high quality learning opportunities during such a difficult time as these laptops go to support pupils who are our most disadvantaged or vulnerable and as such, in need of the most support.
