BULKEX 2015 proved to be well worth attending for Spirotech, generating some solid enquiries for the new canted flight screw conveyor which was being demonstrated on Spirotech’s stand.
This is the first time that the MHEA (Materials Handling Engineers Association) has held a combined large-scale national exhibition and seminar programme for the bulk materials handling industry and the busy and lively show drew interested parties from all areas of bulk handling.

Spirotech-SRD demonstrate the canted flight screw conveyor at BULKEX 2015
The stand drew a lot of interest from visitors when the demonstrations of the canted flight screw conveyor were in action – transporting ping-pong balls up the near vertical column to show the dexterity of the system. This is an exciting new product, developed by the Spirotech design and engineering team, to move products – especially friable materials – upwards via a space-saving conveyor system. Suitable for all products which can be conveyed through a normal screw conveyor, the canted flight can run at steeper angles and at a much slower speed so less damage can occur to the product. And with the overall equipment taking up less space the canted flight screw conveyor will be a boon for many industries.

Ground Level Silo Safety System
Also being demonstrated at BULKEX by Spirotech-SRD’s Business Development & Sales Director Steve Moore, was the Ground Level Silo Safety System (GLT) – developed by Steve to keep the silo and environment safe at all times during tanker filling and to reduce the need for climbing to check valves and monitors.
And who was the lucky winner of champagne and chocolates?
The winner of the prize draw, held on the Spirotech-SRD stand over the two day BULKEX event, is Robert Leighton of Nerak. Well done Robert!
